2002 Committees
Strategic Planning Committee
Chair: Tim Westerdale, General Oil
Coordinator: Martha Peckinpaugh
This committee is responsible for developing the action plans for the Six Initiatives outlined in the Strategic Plan.
They work with Committee Chairs to ensure that activities will be in keeping with the Strategic Plan.
Governmental Affairs Committee
Chair: Jack Waggener, URS/Dames & Moore
Director: Sandy Hunt
The Governmental Affairs Committee studies the regulatory and legislative problems in the used oil industry and reports to
the membership on their findings to keep NORA up-to-date on the latest challenges and/or threats. This committee meets three to four times a year.
Membership/Marketing Committee
Co-Chairs: Phil Pierce, Consultant, and Rod Morton, Insurance Office of America
Coordinator: Martha Peckinpaugh
This committee produces a quarterly newsletter for the association. They are responsible for the association's
communication to NORA members, other related associations and the outside community. This committee works on public relation projects and advertising to promote the association.
They develop membership materials, provide follow-up with prospective and new members and review the dues structure. They are responsible for all membership campaigns.
Conference Committee
Chair: Eric Weiss, Vesco Oil Corporation

The Conference Committee is responsible for choosing the sites for future conferences, recommending hotels, and setting the
schedule of events. In addition, this committee works with the staff on budgets, sponsorship, themes and the speaker program for the main conference in the fall.
Ethics & Compliance Committee
Co-Chairs: Dave Weber, United Waste Water, and Doug McIlvain, Tetra Tech
Coordinator: Martha Peckinpaugh
This committee focuses on promoting standards for the industry. This committee encourages members to participate in
programs like "Responsible Recycling", a program of the Chemical Recyclers, ISO 14001 and EPA's Performance Track.
Associate Advisory Council
Chair: Robert Liguori, Abtech
Coordinator: Martha Peckinpaugh
This committee is for the associate members of NORA, primarily the suppliers and vendors.
They develop ways to market the associates to the general membership. This group exhibits at the Trade Show and supports the association through advertising.

Finance Committee
Chair: Don Littlefield, United Oil Recovery
Finance Director: Martha Peckinpaugh
Accountant: Karen Kellogg
This committee oversees the finances and record keeping of the Association. The Finance Committee reports to the Board
of Directors on a quarterly basis. Members are chosen by the President.
Nominating Committee
Chair: Dave Osbourne, Consolidated Recycling
Coordinator: Martha Peckinpaugh
The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. They interview
and qualify candidates and prepare a slate for the annual election. Members are chosen by the President.
Bylaws Committee:
Chair: Dave Osbourne, Consolidated Recycling
General Counsel: Christopher Harris
The Bylaws Committee reviews the NORA bylaws each year. They recommend changes and/or amendments to the Board.
Members are chosen by the President.
